Author's Corner

Welcome to my blog, and first of all, thank you for taking time to read my material. I am truly passionate about storytelling, and it's the most amazing feeling in the world when another human being is truly entertained by all this crap that comes out of my brain. A few questions and answers....

Who are you?

I am Drew, or Violent Harvest, the original moderator of the creepypasta forums when Who Was Phone left the site. Now, it's owned by a new guy, who is actually very very good at what he does.

Do you only write horror?

I guess I teeter on the edge of dark fantasy and sci-fi, as well, but my writing is dark. My soul is dark. It's just the way I am. If you're looking for bright, motivational paragraphs of squeaky clean rainbow romance, then this isn't the website for you. lol.

What else do you do for fun?

I like to play video games, and music as well. I am a drumset player. I golf sometimes and I'm horrible at it. I go to the gym, and it's painful, but it hurts so good. Other than working, that's usually all I have time for these days.

Are you on facebook/Twitter/blah blah blah?

Yeah. I'll put a tag up for it sometime I guess, so you can add me. Or just search for Drew Wilcox.

What's your favorite book/band/movie?

I love Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card. Definitely that whole series is my favorite. Music wise, I'd had to say Pink Floyd, Tool, A Perfect Circle.... the list is long. I always listen to music when I write. My favorite two movies are The Shawshank Redemption, the The Departed.

Favorite author?

Jonathan Franzen, even though he doesn't write horror. Of course I love H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, naturally.

PIC PLZ

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  3. Just found your site after reading some of your work on creepypasta. I love Liquid Blue, I finished it in just a few hours. I was wondering if it is finished and I can read the rest somewhere or if you are still working on wrapping it up? Please let me know! You left me hanging on the edge of my seat and then it just ended...grrr. Let me know! Thanks!

  4. I just finished reading Liquid Blue (or the first half) and I loved it. It was amazing, truly. I also have an obsession with all things vampires. This story describes them as they were meant to be, dark and frightening. Anyway, I was wondering if the second half is done or if the full story is available somewhere? You left me hanging in the worst way!
    Thanks

    1. Jessica,

I still have about 25k to add on to the manuscript. I know it's been a long time coming. It really, really, really means a lot to me to have someone stop in here and say that they actually read it. I've been questioning myself for so long, sometimes doubting my ability to write, sometimes even doubting my will to be creative at all. I am a tortured soul at heart, which is perhaps why it is easy for me to disappear in to a world of like that of the Liquid Blue universe.

Your post has given some measure of hope that at least one person out there thinks that it's going in the right direction. I need to stop wallowing around, self-medicating myself in to comas and night, and finding excuses not to write. I need to do a lot of things. My grandmother was in the hospital this week after a stroke and I have just been having a really tough time in my personal life, but I PROMISE you that I'm going to get to work on the manuscript over the holiday weekend and see if I can do some word count damage. It means so much to me to have a fan like you, more than you know.

Thank you for your encouragement, and I will try to have the book finished by the end of August. I started it exactly two Augusts ago and it's just sat on my desktop, collecting digital dust. It's time for all that shit to stop and it's time for me to start making contributions to this blog again.

To any other VH faithful that's reading this, I'm so sorry. I can't tell why every excuse as to why I haven't been able to keep my project going. There are so many of them. But I truly believe that the finished product will be a more mature and fleshed out read that's not only entertaining, but capable of touching a person's soul.

Thank you again, and I hope you have a great 4th of July. I had a rough day today, and I think I'm going to try to add a few chapters tonight. We'll see what happens.

In a mutual love of fiction,

      -VH/DW
